Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. She went to Arnold School Blackpool as head girl. She scored every A grade on her A level exams. As she discussed her Emmerdale character, Coleman expressed regret for being unable to attend a college. When she was at school, Coleman was part of a theatre company called In Yer Space with whom she played at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. She was awarded an award for her performance and the play was also highly praised. Coleman was auditioning to join drama colleges in 2005, was offered Jasmine Thomas' role in Emmerdale. Coleman received two nominations in 2007. Coleman received two nominations in 2007 for Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards; and most Popular Newcomer for the National Television Awards. In 2009 she won nominations for two categories which included Best Actress-Sexiest Women and Best Dramatic Performance. Coleman was awarded a Television Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman has replaced Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor since Arthur Darvill left the series, would be playing the role of Matt Smith. Moffat picked her to play the role due to her being the most successful in her interactions with Smith and spoke more quickly than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Her involvement in the film industry since 1987. She is however, more popular for her television projects rather as opposed to films. Eva is best known for her work as Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and as the detective Natalia Boa Vistas from CSI Miami. This particular show gave Eva two nominations for a Daytime Emmy. Also, she got to show off her artistic side via music. Eva as well as acting as an actress, is a philanthropist, businesswoman and entrepreneur. She is a thrice-married woman and has a daughter with her second spouse.
